The Surity Project Framework consists of:
Performance Management
The Performance Management Framework involves the establishment of appropriate control mechanisms, and monitoring their application in individual projects, to be proactive in avoiding project failure while establishing realistic expectations for project documentation and control activities. The Performance Management Framework provides a structure within which required project activities can be defined, which is consistent across the portfolio of projects while remaining consonant with the size and strategic importance of each individual project.
Project Management Methodology
Project Management Methodology encompasses processes and tools that support Project Managers, Project Team members and other Stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. This Guide consists of Processes, Procedures, Templates, Checklists and Techniques, to assist projects to achieve performance standards, and establish commonality across the portfolio of projects in the organisation.
Capability Development
The Capability Development Framework involves assessment of skills in the organisation, delivery of structured training programs and workshops, and provision of a policy for further professional development in the area of Project Management. Like all other elements of the SPF, capability development is a permanent feature within the organisation.
Organisational Support Structure
Organisational Support Structure(s) exist within projects as well as ‘around’ projects. Each project will need an established organisational structure with defined roles and responsibilities. Likewise, the firm as a whole will need a consistent approach to ensure that project participants receive appropriate support across the organisation in regard to clearly defined authorities, decision making processes, resource provision, and so on.
Organisational Strategic Integration (a.k.a. Project Portfolio Management)
Organisational Strategic Alignment is in place to ensure that all projects deliver value in line with the organisation’s strategic goals.
The sub-elements involved in this component are:
- Definition of measurable strategic goals for the organisation and its business units;
- Definition of project ranking and prioritisation criteria;
- Establishment of processes and resources for project prioritisation; and
- Establishment of processes and resources for project portfolio management.
